“Droppings in the attic…how big of a problem is this, really?”
We’ve all been there: a few mice droppings in the corner. But when you’re staring down a bigger pile of stuff, especially from non-mice wildlife creatures, knowing when to call a professional is an important first step. Droppings from critters like raccoons can carry harmful bacteria that can be detrimental to your health if you don’t have the proper PPE, the right equipment, or the appropriate training.
That’s where Umpire comes in.

Still have questions? We’ve got your back.
If you have a question not listed here, give us a call and talk to a real person. No complicated phone menus - just the information you need.
Can I clean up wildlife feces myself?
We strongly recommend against DIY cleanup, especially when you’re dealing with critters like raccoons and bats.
Raccoons in particular can carry roundworms in their stool, meaning that cleanup requires special equipment, personal protection gear, and proper training. Without these things, you may put yourself at risk of serious health issues. Call us anytime to speak with a team member if you have questions!
How fast can your team come out to my home?
You can expect a team member to come to your home for an initial assessment within one to two days of calling us.
Can you salvage my belongings?
It depends. If we’re dealing with raccoon feces specifically, we recommend against saving items that have been contaminated in order to protect your health. We will assess each item thoroughly and let you know what can be saved and what should be safely discarded.
I’m a realtor, inspector, or wildlife removal professional looking for a reliable partner to provide this service. What’s the best way to connect my customer or client with you?
You’re welcome to call us to make the connection, or your customer can reach out anytime via text, phone, email, or web form. A real person always answers the phone, and if we miss your call, we call back in five minutes – guaranteed.
What does wildlife feces cleanup usually cost?
It depends on several factors, including the size of the affected area, the type of contamination, and how much contamination is present.
That’s why we’ll come out for an assessment before any work begins – so we can provide practical recommendations and define a realistic scope of work that best fits your needs.
Can you test the cleanup area to ensure all contamination is gone?
Yes and no. When requested, ATP testing is what Umpire can use as a cleaning verification tool, but it’s important to note that this is not a pathogen-specific test. A passing ATP reading means that organic contamination has been effectively removed from the surface - it does not mean that the surface is sterile, pathogen-free, or safe for a specific organism.
If you want to know whether any raccoon roundworm eggs (or organisms from a bat or mouse) are present at any time, before or after cleaning, we recommend hiring an external specialist to test for this.
