Padded estimate? (here’s how to tell)

There’s a real way to check.

If you’ve ever worked with a contractor for any type of home service or repair, you know that feeling:

You’ve gotten two or three estimates from several different companies so you can make an informed decision, but they vary by thousands of dollars.

How do you know which one to c̶h̶o̶o̶s̶e̶ trust?

You want to make a wise financial decision, but you want the job done right, too.

Am I missing something here? you wonder.

No, you’re not – and it’s not just you.

When it comes to evaluating water damage cleanup quotes in particular, there are a few factors that can explain the gap in pricing – and many homeowners don’t find out what they are until they’ve already signed something.

To help you avoid that, I’ve put together five questions I’d recommend asking any mitigation company before moving forward with a scope of work. I hope you find it useful!

And next time you’re looking at a quote for cleanup or mitigation work – whether that’s today or down the road – call or email me, and I’ll give you my honest take.

Take care,

Stephen
