Little-known pro tip…

Most folks don’t know their insurance company will provide this for free.

So here’s a thing you may not be thinking about a lot:

Your water heater.

Stick with me here.

Something we’ve seen several times recently is water damage from slow water heater leaks.

When was the last time you took a peek at yours?

You don’t remember?

Okay: go give it a look.

I’ll wait.

What did you find?

👀 Any damp drywall or warping flooring?

👀 Any rust streaks down the side of the tank?

👀 Any popping or hissing noises?

Hopefully not. (If you did notice any of these things, abandon this email and call me right now!)

Most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking about our water heater unless we hop into an ice-cold shower we expected to be hot.

Fortunately you don’t have to think about your water heater much to prevent water damage from sneaky, slow leaks.

Just get a water sensor instead.

Water sensors are pretty inexpensive, and when you place one strategically around your water heater, it’ll alert you of a slow leak so you can catch potential water damage early.

And here’s youreal pro tip for today: while insurance companies typically don’t cover slow leaks, most will provide you with water sensors at no cost if you ask.

They’ll also give you a discount on a whole-system water shut-off if you decide to install one of those in your home.

Reply and let me know if you’d like more info on water sensors and where to place them around your home to prevent expensive water damage.

If there’s enough interest, I’ll put together some tips for you soon.

Take care,

Stephen
